A Private Retreat on the Mara River

Simba’s Den is the only standalone cabin at Exploreans Mara River Camp — a spacious two-bedroom log house built for families, small groups, or anyone who wants a place to linger. At 120 square metres of interior space plus a 27-square-metre river-view deck, it offers the privacy of a home with the service of a luxury safari camp.

The living area opens onto the deck through wide glass doors, framing views of the Mara River and the wildlife that moves along its banks. In the early morning, you can watch hippos return to the water from the comfort of your armchair. In the evening, the deck becomes the setting for private dinners under the stars.

Room by Room

The master bedroom features a king-size bed with quality linens and an en-suite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The second bedroom can be configured with twin beds or a second king, making it ideal for children, friends, or multi-generational travel. Both bedrooms share the same attention to detail — soft lighting, natural materials, and views of the surrounding bush.

The kitchenette and dining area give Simba’s Den a self-contained feel, though most guests choose to take meals at the main camp dining area or arrange private bush dinners through the camp team.
